Eyebrow Burn From Hot Wax at Spa...
(St. Louis, MO)
I scheduled an eyebrow waxing. During the procedure, the technician dropped hot wax on my eyelid and eyebrow. I suffered a 2nd degree burn, had blisters and went to the doctor.
My vision changed due to this incident. I have scar tissue and my eyebrow will not grow where the scar tissue is located. Do I have any recourse for these injuries?

ANSWER for "Eyebrow Burn From Hot Wax at Spa...":
Sharon (St. Louis, MO):
You do. Hopefully at the time of the incident a manager was called over and an "Incident Report" of some type was created. That's the first place to start. The next action would be to collect your medical records, whether they were from the emergency room or your personal doctor.
According to the facts you present you may need to consult with a plastic surgeon as well. Deciding which legal avenue to pursue will be more difficult for you. Although you have a perfect right to pursue your legal claim independent of an attorney's assistance, with the type and severity of your injuries you might be best served by seeking the advice of a qualified personal injury attorney.
The injuries you suffered are quite serious. You may have a right to recover compensation not only for your medical bills, but for any out of pocket expenses you may incurred, your lost wages during your treatment and recovery, and an additional amount for the pain and suffering you've endured and may continue to endure.
The above is general information. Laws change frequently, and across jurisdictions. You should get a personalized case evaluation from an attorney licensed in your state. Find a local attorney to give you a free case review here, or call (888) 647-2490.
