I was rear ended by a truck, what kind of settlement should I get?
by Sherri (Denver, Colorado)
I was stopped at a red light when I was rear ended by a truck. It was a commercial food truck. I have a whiplash injury due to the accident. What type of settlement should I expect?

ANSWER for "I was rear ended by a truck, what kind of settlement should I get?":
Personal injury settlements are based upon your medical expenses therefore it is difficult to give you a definitive answer. We can however, give you a general guide for what to expect.
Once you have completed your treatment, you will have medical bills from one or more providers. Typically personally injury demands start at 4-5 times the medical expenses plus out of pocket expenses and wage loss. From here, the negotiations begin as it is rare that a demand will be accepted without at least one counter-offer.
The above is general information. Laws change frequently, and across jurisdictions. You should get a personalized case evaluation from an attorney licensed in your state. Find a local attorney to give you a free case review here, or call (888) 647-2490.
