Receiving medical bills after case settled?

Submitted By: Alex (Atlanta, GA)

I got into an accident with a semi truck on 11/30/12 and received my settlement check on 6/28/13. The imaging center where I got an MRI is now sending me a bill for $1800. I never saw this bill throughout the course of my case. They are also threatening to send my account to collections.

Can my former personal injury attorney assist with this? Will I be responsible to pay for it since it wasn’t included in the expenses when my settlement was negotiated? Any information you can give would be much appreciated. Thanks.
