I stayed at a hotel in New Jersey. I went into the bathroom and slipped on water that had leaked from the toilet. Management sent someone to the room to fix the leak. The next day I was in pain, my mom gave me her pain pills and they seemed to work.
I ran out of the pain pills on Saturday and now I’m in pain again. Over the counter medication isn’t helping me at all.
I’m wondering how long I have to file a claim against the hotel so that I can go to a doctor and get real pain medication? I can’t afford to pay for a doctor’s visit myself. Thank you.

Normally the Statute of Limitations, or “time limit” for either settling a claim or filing a lawsuit is 2 years. That would apply in your case as well.
