I fell on my landlord’s property and was injured. I took pictures and I have witnesses. I am now receiving medical treatment for my injuries. My landlord came out and also took pictures and information from me. He said the insurance company will be contacting me but declined to give me the insurance company’s name or phone number so I can forward medical bills and make contact with them.
Is this how business is done? And how long should I give the insurance agent to contact me?

There isn’t any law which compels your landlord to give you the name of her insurance company. If she is telling the truth it may take a couple of weeks.
If you haven’t heard anything from the insurance company by then you should ask your landlord once more for the name of her insurance company.
If she doesn’t help you then you may have to either file a Small Claims action against the landlord, or retain an attorney to pursue the case for you.
Most personal injury attorneys will not charge any fee for an initial office consultation.
If your landlord wants to procrastinate you may have no choice but to initiate legal action.
If you choose to file a lawsuit on your own in Small Claims Court the maximum amount of money you are legally able to sue for in the State of Maryland is $5,000.00 dollars.
Remember, even if your injuries and resulting medical bills are less than $5,000.00 dollars you can ask for the difference in an amount for pain and suffering.
