I was walking through a storage unit lot. I was wearing a pair of shoes that had about a 1 1/2 inch heel on them. The cement suddenly got uneven at one of the seams (as I would call it, I don’t know the technical term) and my foot just rolled over onto my ankle, I almost fell but I caught myself. It hurt pretty bad. It gradually hurt worse all day and I was limping by bedtime.
Now it aches and I can’t move it without pain. I don’t know what to do. I don’t have medical insurance. I’m not happy with the stupid storage unit facilities for their cement being uneven. Please let me know what to do. Is there anything I can do about the pain in my ankle? Thanks.

You can’t do anything until you first seek medical attention. It’s important to know if your ankle injury is a sprain or a fracture. If it’s a sprain you have little legal recourse. Although painful, a sprain should heal in a matter of a week or so.
While technically you have the basis of a personal injury claim against the storage unit’s land owner and manager (if separate from one another), if your ankle injury is a sprain your claim wouldn’t be worth very much.
Additionally, because you apparently didn’t report the injury at or about the time it occurred, or at least before you left the premises, the store unit’s landowner or manager’s insurance company will say your injury resulted from a subsequent intervening force.
If your ankle is fractured your personal injury claim will be much stronger and well worth pursuing. If that’s the case, you’ll need an experienced personal injury attorney to represent you. A fractured ankle injury claim can be worth a substantial amount. In any event, before taking any further action seek medical care.
